Well I didn’t plan to step away for so long but life just happened. First and foremost, we sold our house!
We lived there for four years and it was a little hard to leave. I actually had a whole post written about it but then never posted it…I guess I just needed to type it up to get it out but then it seemed silly afterwards. Lots of memories…it was like saying goodbye to an old friend. But there’ll be others!
We stayed at my parents’ house for a week and then moved into an apartment today. We will live here for a month and then move into another rental. Just call me the queen of packing and unpacking! Here I sit on my throne (aka: one of the three pieces of furniture not in storage), leeching off of someone’s wifi! Hey, if it’s an open network, it’s fair game…
I guess I don’t really have anything important to say (do I ever?) but rather I’m just recording the seemingly unimportant. A few days ago I read The Walk by Richard Paul Evans and a part of it just rang true to me. This is an excerpt from Alan’s (the main character) journal as a young boy:
Mom says it doesn’t matter what I write and if I wait to write just the importent things then I’ll probly never write anything, because the importent things just look like everything else except when you look back on them.
So here’s to sharing the sometimes boring, sometimes messy, sometimes silly, sometimes embarassing…sometimes seemingly unimportant side of life. Because someday I might just want to look back and remember the summer when we moved three times, slept on an air mattress for weeks, ate our meals standing at the kitchen counter (or on the floor), chased after a silly girl who finally discovered that legs are for walking and ate far too many ice cream cones.
Life is good.
^ Blurry, but priceless. This is her signature face.
^Camping on Cape Cod with Grammy and Grandpa.
^ Picking the sausage out of her eggs…she’ll totally be a Lucky Charms marshmallow thief.
See you around!
