I’m not really one to do review or round-up posts but I have a bunch of new readers (welcome!) so I thought it might be appropriate, just this once…or maybe a few times a year. Some were posted four years ago! If you were here then, thanks for sticking around for so long!
With autumn just a few weeks away, here are a handful of my favorite seasonal recipes that always appear on my menu around this time of year. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Quite possibly my favorite of all time (bold statement, I know), this soup is rich and creamy while still packing in a bunch of vegetables. The addition of cayenne pepper and nutmeg really add to the complexity and I could eat it daily. Sprinkle some crumbled bacon on top for some crunch and you just might die of happiness.
This hearty salad is delicious and filling on its own, but try topping it with the crispy chicken from this post and you’ve got a killer combo. It also pairs really well with the butternut squash soup mentioned above. I served them together for a luncheon earlier this year and it was a big hit.
The use of frozen puff pastry makes this danish braid a breeze to put together, yet it always impresses. It’s great as both a dessert and breakfast pastry.
This is my most viewed/pinned post and it’s easy to see why. These cupcakes are super simple to make, thanks to the help of a box mix, and perfect for the fall season. Just don’t blame me if you polish off the frosting by the spoonful.
These bars may not look too pretty but they are dreamy. They are the perfect way to use up your spoils from the orchard and they will disappear rapidly.
P.S. You can always visit the recipe page for an index of all of the recipes I post (or almost all…I’m working on updating it).
